Seasonal Spells

In the natural magic calendar, the spring festival is aligned with the spring equinox, around March 21st, called Imbolc. It is the day in spring when the nights and days are the exact same length. The original "Easter" festival was related to Oestara, the goddess of dawn, Eos in Greek and the much older Babylonian Ishtar, the goddess of sex, war and fertility. The Christians liked to assimilate the existing festivals and now we have Easter, but the traditional magic of  giving each other eggs is bigger today than ever; and of course, we all know what bunnies are particularly well known for! Unlike the more complex astrological, moon, year or day/month cycles, sun phases are actually far more basic, more powerful, and sun phases are easy to remember and very clearly natural.

We have a leap year this year and someone requested a Leap Year Spell for February 29th. This was an interesting experience and a good exercise in how to create magic spells and rituals in the first place, original spells that belong to you, that come from you and therefore, have a much better chance to work for you. So here's my leap year spell; you can use it or just use it for inspiration to create a leap year spell of your own.
