Graveyard Dust & Helpful Spirits From The Other Side

Graveyard Dust & Helpful Spirits From The Other Side

Some magic recipes and witchcraft spells call for the addition of graveyard dust or graveyard earth; and the traditional way to acquire this is to visit a graveyard at an auspicious time for this endeavour, usually in the dead of night (!); to be guided to the right grave where the resident occupant is helpful to the magic endeavour; to scoop up some earth and run like hell before anybody sees you.

Sounds like tons of fun?

Yes, and it is, but there is a workable alternative for those who can't or don't want to hang around in cemeteries past midnight.

Some magic recipes and witchcraft spells call for the addition of graveyard dust or graveyard earth; and the traditional way to acquire this is to visit a graveyard at an auspicious time for this endeavour, usually in the dead of night (!) and to be guided to the right grave where the resident occupant is helpful to the magic endeavour. Sounds like tons of fun? Yes, and it is, but there is a workable alternative for those who can't or don't want to hang around in cemeteries past midnight.

When I had a studio built at the bottom of my garden, lots of grave stones were discovered from a 1st World War cemetery, young English soldiers mostly between the ages of 14 - 26.

There is an argument as to whether these were "mis-printed" somehow and the original builder of the houses here got hold of them that way, or whether there was an actual cemetery somewhere that was moved and the headstones were sold off for making patios (!) but either way, I felt a strong connection through the stones to these young men whose names and dates of birth and death were on them.

I kept one to stand for them all and made a memorial in the garden for these soldiers, the men in my family who had been soldiers, and all soldiers, really. It's just the one headstone and some white roses and herbs, but it's a special place to me.

The memorial stone in my garden to A Soldier Of The Great War

Which makes me think that if one might want home-made graveyard dust with helpful spirits, one could make such a place in one's garden, or even a small memorial in miniature in a planter to certain people who have passed into the spirit world, and the earth there would be most suitable after a time to be used in magic spells and potions as graveyard dust or graveyard earth, and very personal, as well.

When I bought my house, I knew there was something special about it and long before the headstones were discovered, I had met many of the young soldiers in my dreams.

The memorial has given a strong focus and also added all the other soldiers from all those other times, from other tribes to the dimension; I think if you're reading this you will get a sense of how strong and magical a protection that is to my home and all who live here, to have such friends on the other side.

You don't need a body to create a powerful connection to a person, a group of people, ancestors, or certain types of people like my brave soldiers here; to make a memorial and bring their memory into here and now creates a powerful portal for such helpful spirits to come to you and act on your behalf.

The "Graveyard dust", horrible as it may sound, in practice is a powerful portal in its own right and it will add many dimensions of blessings, protection and multi-level action to your spells and potions like nothing else could or would.

I think that a memorial (or as many as you want to make, for different purposes) is a highly personal form of magic that can give you much support, and greatly empower your magic.

With love to my soldiers, to all soldiers,
