One of my best friends is enlisted in the army and I came across this page about protective charms for a loved one as I was searching for something I could give to him.

I have a few questions about this talisman though and I was wondering if you could answer them.

1. Does it matter if the pendant isn't suspended on a silver chain or leather band?  (Mine is suspended on a string because i couldn't find anything better.  >.<)


It matters in so far as intention is *everything* in magic. "I couldn't find anything better ..." sounds to me as though you didn't try very hard in your quest or search for the "perfect suspension method for the charm."

In the material world it doesn't matter as long as it hangs; in the magic world the suspender is the connection between the charm and the wearer and intention is king.

So, No. 1 - what kind of suspender does this charm require? What would be perfect? What material?

If the charm wants a gold chain, a gold chain it has to be to be a perfect charm, even if it means selling your PlayStation or working overtime for a week.

It's like putting heart and soul into the magic, straight down the line, that makes for the most powerful objects in the end.


2. Does the amount of time I wear the pendant have an effect on its effectiveness?


No, that's intention again. The law is 1 = Infinity. What that means is if you can put your heart and soul into that charm for one single second that counts for more than wearing it thoughtlessly for an infinity, or fifty years.

The amount of power/energy/love you can put into it is the amount of energy the charm will have.

By recommending to wear it for a time I am hoping that even absolute beginners will have their moments of intense love and energy output and the charm will pick that up.



3. Is it okay if I take it off when I shower?


Of course, that's fine. Although I could imagine a shower moment whilst focusing on the love for the one who is to be protected by the charm could be quite something.
