Magic...it's all around us! In the earth, the air, the trees, the elements. But have you ever looked for the magic in the stars? I don't just mean the twinkling in the sky, although that is quite magical in itself. I mean the energies and influences that come from the planets and start signs. let's look at the Moon for example. New Moons set the perfect nurturing energy for starting something new. And a Full Moon sets the tone for letting things go in order to allow change. It gets even better! As the Moon moves through each sign of the zodiac it triggers different aspects of ourselves to work with. A Cancer Full Moon for example is a great time to release old emotional ties and issues. A Virgo New Moon can help us get started on new projects that require attention to detail.
We then throw in things like planets challenging each other or working together to bring harmony. If you pay attention to where these different energies are focusing, you can create some of your own magic by tapping into their energy. Our skies are exploding with raw energy and magic. The planets and constellations are all in a never ending dance. The trick is to keep up with the steps, the changes in tempo, and the beat. You too can dance with the magic of the Universe!
Celtic Tree Month
September 2nd begins the Celtic Tree Month of Muin (Vine) - This time represents the powers of earth and resurrection. It has long been used to make wine for ritual purposes, and therefore possesses qualities of intoxication, joy, and lust. The vine is associated with learning lessons, and with changing thought patterns and life processes. It also evokes the richness of the harvest.
Vine people are the instinctive organizers of life always ahead of the field when it comes to contingency plans, and it is a great mistake to underestimate them. For People born in the first two weeks: Their emotions and energies are more openly expressed. Their weak points are related to the inherent imbalance of the sign, an inability to come to terms with certain aspects of their lives.
Their positive traits are shown with their natural enthusiasm and support of partners. For people born during the last two weeks under the waning aspect of the full moon this imbalance is corrected at the time of the Autumnal Equinox and they have the ability to forgive with true compassion. They are, however, rather more difficult to comprehend and are prone to over-indulge their sensuous nature. Generally speaking, people born under this sign can help to create harmony and stability, but they can also become some-what parasitical or totally dependant on the good nature of others.

Void of Course Moon Schedule for September 2011
It is said that when the Moon is void of a course it can cause delays, false starts and unexpected hassles. When the Moon is void of course it means that it is in the process of moving between two signs and is not quite sure how it feels yet.
And since the Moon rules our emotions, we don't know how we feel either! The effects can last from a few seconds to a day or two. Energy can feel off balance and this is not a good time for making major decisions, signing contracts, or doing anything based on emotional decisions because our perceptions are a bit out of whack.
The Void Moon begins at 27 degrees in one sign and ends at 3 degrees in the next sign

Star Transits For September 2011
September has us moving out of the shadow of Mercury retrograde and into a time of focusing on relationships, home, and our body. This will be down to Venus moving through purifying Virgo. Venus then moves into the relationship sign of Libra which can bring a forward movement to all kinds of relationships for us. We also have Mars moving from "in your shell" Cancer into Leo which will bring a desire to get yourself out there in the social aspect of your life.
The Sun has been in Virgo since August 23rd and will remain there until September 23rd when it starts to shift into a new sign
The energy of this signs transit brings about some playful and friendly activities. When the Sun is in Virgo, details take on an enormous importance. An intellectually stimulating time, the Virgo Sun hones our logic and sharpens our sense of stability and value. Only the best will do right now -- from clothing to food to interpersonal communication -- anything that seems low in value will fall by the wayside. This Earth Sign also connects us to our physical selves through a sharp awareness of health and hygiene as well as a keen sensuality. Practical to almost a fault, Virgo energy will motivate us to enforce order onto whatever chaos the past months may have wreaked. Once comfortable with the nervous tension that this astrological influence can create, there is pleasure to be had at this time. It comes in the form of an acute appreciation of aesthetic beauty and the arts.
A good time for:
* Hunkering down with our most meticulous and detail-heavy tasks or responsibilities
* Taking a more active interest in your health -- quitting smoking, starting new fitness routines
* Enjoying detail-oriented games and crafts
The Sun then moves into Libra on September 23rd - the Autumn Equinox.
Libra symbolizes relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance--finding balance and harmony through relationships with others and through art. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker. However, life is not always peaceful with Libra in its attempt to restore balance. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra. Libra weighs both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process seems endless! In Libra, the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the keywords for Libra. On the shadow side, Libra can be self-serving, indecisive, passive-aggressive, and superficial.
Libra, the scales, represents that perfect balance between day and night that comes with the equinox. It brings an awareness of where we stand within ourselves and with others. So this can greatly affect relationships of all kinds. But pay attentions to the Sun’s opposition to Uranus on the 25th, square to Pluto on the 28th and conjunction with Saturn on October 13th because these transits can unleash some turbulent waters. You may find connections and alliances are shaken up in some unexpected ways, but this can be for the better as it also brings new potential for freedom and cooperation.
When the Sun is in Libra, don't expect decisions to be finalized. Libra Suns mark a time of deliberation, of hemming-and-hawing, of going over and over your options with a fine-toothed comb, weighing the pros and cons. The symbol of Libra is, of course, the Balance. This celestial situation bestows upon us a natural diplomacy and a sense of fairness, and yet we're never really quite sure if we're making the right choice. We'll be in the research stage, so to speak, investigating the possibilities and potentialities. While you're puzzling over a conclusion, you'll also be very persuasively arguing the side you most support. Libra is just as convincing as it is indecisive and tactful and cautious. With this inclination toward harmony, Libra Sun also turns our thoughts to aesthetic beauty and the wonder of interpersonal relationships. This Air Sign desires companionship -- especially romantic love bo nds! Anticipate charming suitors and appeasing partners.
A good time for:
* Visiting art museums or bookstores
* Making your personal relationships and partnerships top priority
On September 12th the Full Moon moves into Pisces
This Full Moon brings a sensitive Pisces energy that is in opposition to the Sun in practical Virgo right now. And this can have us struggling between the heart and head. It can have us feeling overwhelmed by our own insecurities, our obligations, and our faith in ourselves when we feel our workload is a bit too much. A lot of this is down to us creating ridiculously high standards for ourselves. But this Full Moon also brings a chance for some spiritual breakthroughs and creative inspiration that will help overcome obstacles.
At this time We are not inclined to want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
Our lives takes on a kind of mystical quality at the emotional and instinctive levels. Dreams and illusions, forgiveness, and understanding human frailties are what arouse deep feelings at this time. The past and the future intermingle, and the barriers between people dissolve - there is the key to the greater psychic and spiritual sensitivity you feel now.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
On September 27th The New Moon is in Libra
New Moons are a time for new beginnings and in Libra creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
We will also see a heavy emphasis on the air element signs of Libra and Aquarius (and a little Gemini, too). This will bring a plethora of ideas and conversations and makes a great time to be social. But take heed! All of this mental energy can stir up our creative processes but only a few of our brilliant ideas will actually be able to bear fruit. So choose ideas wisely. We also have this ongoing challenge between explosive Uranus and the power struggle of Pluto. If you look back at last months London riots and other revolts going on around the world you can get an idea of what this energy can do. Well this is even more activated now with this New Moon which can result in a lot of finger pointing and passing the buck, but not getting too much accomplished.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
Refinement and relationships are the keys to emotional satisfaction for you now. Harmony and beauty are deeply satisfying - and the lack of them can be emotionally unsettling. Close personal ties to other people are a focal point for your feelings - marriage and other partnerships could be a key arena for this.
September 3rd - Sun trine Jupiter (Sun in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus) -
Under this transit we have a better understanding of the "big picture" and how we fit into the grand scheme of things. This can really raise one's self-esteem and confidence and allow us to see more opportunities and possibilities than we did before. This is what we call a "fell good" transit and it can give us a fresher perspective that makes our insight into the world around us seem brighter, optimistic, and inspiring. We find that we feel more connected on a spiritual level, being "plugged in" to our higher selves. So this will really help those of us who felt stuck in a rut and uninspired. Just be careful that you don't let yourself go a bit over board, over confident, and ungrounded. Listen to those around you and use your inner wisdom wisely.
September 8th - Mercury opposition Neptune (Mercury in Leo, Neptune in Aquarius) -
Under this transit we encounter inspired thinking, mental fantasy, imaginative ideas and lucid dreaming. Heightened creativity can really inspire us at this time and we find our communicative processes are more magical and intuitive. But do be careful because this is also a time when our perception of reality can be a bit off and coloured by a bit of wishful thinking. If you are trying to make some important decisions at this time, it may be a good idea to get a trusted friend or advisor on board to help keep you grounded.
September 9th - Mercury enters Virgo - As Mercury moves into its home sign of Virgo we find an awareness developing of health, healing, work and service to others. This is a good time to focus on self improvements and be a bit more methodical. But you do need to be careful that you don't get so caught up in the minute details that you lose sight of the goal all together. It is a good time to organize your schedule and activities and is conducive for restarting plans and goals that may have fallen to the wayside or have been delayed during Mercury's recent retrograde period.
September 9th – Mercury leaves the Retrograde Shadow in Virgo - Ok everyone let your breath out as messenger Mercury finally leaves its shadow, the part of the zodiac where it was retrograde. So what does this mean now? The delays, frustrations of miscommunications, and general confusion of these past 2 months is now starting to break up and allow us some forward movement. And we now have the added benefit of being able to see things from a shiny new perspective. this is down to a lot of re-thinking, rehashing, and reconsidering of all that info that has been thrown our way. You may realize that you now have more options and choices than you had before. Those great ideas you had a month or so ago may now not seem as good as you find new and better ways to approach things. So take a look at any situations that you have been waiting to take action with now.
September 9th Mercury opposition Neptune (Mercury in Virgo, Neptune in Aquarius) -
Indecision or uncertainty could plague us under this brief transit. A strong desire to get lost in daydreams is quite high and can often be at the expense of our productivity and clear communication. Mercury in Virgo fights for structure while Neptune in Aquarius wants liberation and to break out of routines. Our mind tends to wander or feel lazy, especially when faced with any type of technical facts or details. And it can be hard to get a solid answers from others or misrepresent ourselves. It's not a good time to finalize agreements so try to hold off on signing contracts or making long term comittments until this transit's energy passes.
September 10th - Mercury opposition Chiron (Mercury in Virgo, Chiron in Pisces) -
This is a time when we may experience extra sensitivity or feel more compassion towards the suffering of others. We may find that we are encountering more people than usual who are struggling with issues. Or we may find ourselves on the receiving end of someone else's frustrations. This is also a time when we may find that others are more receptive to our needs and can offer help and solutions to issues we have been struggling with. It's a good time for exchanging information, personal experiences, and ideas as a way to help those around us. Be aware that you could have an interaction with another that could bring up some old issue relating to how you communicate to others.
September 11th – Venus sextile Mars (Venus in Virgo, Mars in Cancer) - This transit brings an opportune time to take a more balanced approach to any conflicts, problems, and goals that require a lot of effort. Having a good balance between a gentle approach and firm action will help quite a bit. It does make a good time for hashing out negotiations and issues because, even though some communication may feel aggressive and determines, it will be tempered with sensitivity and fairness.
September 12th - Mercury Trine Pluto (Mercury in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn) -
This could be a time of breakthrough for you in situations where you are trying to get below the surface, or to the heart of a situation going on around you. You could have an "Aha!" moment or two as light is shed on some dark corners of your life or a situation that has felt stuck. It's an intense energy however so you need to be careful you don't overwhelm others with your convictions and new found insights. This transit can also bring an opportunity to release and leave behind some old and worn out perceptions or ineffective ways of communicating. It may be a good idea to write down your thoughts and ideas as a way to capture the energy of this transit.
September 14th - Mercury trine Jupiter (Mercury in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus) - This is a favorable influence for short trips, writing, teaching, studying, mailings, interviews, advertising and promotion, submitting applications and forms, and accurate observations. We are more inclined to think positively and with growth in mind. Others tend to be more cooperative with us at this time and we may find others seek out our advice. It's definitely a time when we could receive some interesting offers. This bodes well for jobs searches and sharing ideas for new projects and goals.
September 14th - Venus enters Libra - As amorous Venus enters her airy home sign of Libra we find we are more inclined to employ charm rather than aggressive behaviour. It's a time that bodes well for peace, harmony and a more objective view of our relationships. Although Venus in Libra virtually lives for relationships, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We are very obliging with others--quite willing to negotiate and compromise. We can be especially idealistic about love. We prefer things be done the "right" way, and are turned off by aggressive or uncouth behavior. The shadow side of this position is dependency, inconsistency, and superficiality. In an attempt to avoid unpleasant situations, we could easily gloss over deeper issues at play in our relationships. It's probably best to avoid the trap of acquiescing to our partners but privately resenting the fact or thinking ourselves martyrs for doing so! This is also a time when we are more artistically inclined. We tend to seek balance in our personal environment.
We do need to be aware, however, as the planet of romance faces some harsher aspects with volatile Uranus on September 17th, punishing Pluto on the 18th and a stern Saturn on the 29th. Now would be a time for addressing any underlying issues about your personal freedom, power, and control but doing so rationally may not be as easy as one would hope. It can lead to much stronger alliances though in the end.
September 16th - Pluto goes direct in Capricorn - The forward movement of Pluto brings our suppressed desires to the surface, permitting us to see our innermost secrets in the light of day. Being honest, but kind with ourselves and others earns trust and renews passion for pursuing our goals. This transit can bring potential for change through some extreme situations now both inward and in the world around us.
September 17th - Venus opposite Uranus (Venus in Libra, Uranus in Aries) - When Venus is challenged by Uranus we may find that we have unusual attractions (to people and things) that can have us acting on a whim. You, or a close partner, may be dealing with issues around freedom versus closeness. And don't be too surprised over last-minute changes of plans, or some other unexpected event, that challenges our ability to stay connected; a sudden break or a quick beginning to a new friendship or romance is equally likely. Breaking the unspoken (or spoken) rules in a friendship or love relationship is tempting now, perhaps in an attempt to stir up trouble or excitement. Sometimes this transit correlates with unexpected changes in your income and there is a need to guard against impulse purchases.
September 18th - Mars enters Leo - Our fiery Mars feels right at home in Leo where creativity, confidence and charisma flourish. Sometimes these positive attributes can come at a price though. We may see or experience excessive pride or conceit which can turn every act into a performance where spontaneity is inhibited by hunger for approval. Innocently enjoying self-expression with art, romance, fun and games can really balance the ego’s constant need for attention. Remember, Leo is our inner child and children often cry out for attention...so make sure you are paying attention to yours.
September 23rd - Mars trine Uranus (Mars in Leo, Uranus in Aries) -
Under this more aggressive transit you will find you have more confidence and courage to assert yourself. This can be great in breaking through obstacles that have kept you from moving forward. And we can accomplish a great deal during this time period. This is a time during which we feel unusually motivated or driven in new and unexpected directions. And don't be surprised if you receive unexpected support and, in general, your efforts are successful and reach new heights of originality. Just be careful of Aries' tendency to not pay attention to details as you get caught up in Leo's exuberance.
September 25th - Mercury enters Libra - Messenger Mercury can see both sides of any situation in fair-minded and balancing Libra. Our thinking benefits from the refined clarity and communication skills of Mercury, inviting new connections to be made. But we do have a bit of a hiccup here as well as Mercury follows the same course as Venus and the Sun. So expect discussions to diverge, darken, or break down from time to time. Our trickster planet encounters lightning bolts of brilliance and impatience as it connects with Uranus on the 26th and then it descends to dark waters of insight and suspicion with Pluto on the 28th. New rules of engagement could be signed with Mercury’s conjunction to serious Saturn on October 6th. So be prepared for a wild ride!
September 25th - Sun Opposite Uranus -
The urge for personal freedom and self-expression is paramount now, and we find ourselves refusing to conform to societies demands and restrictions. This can get you into hot water with others however. Your wants are somewhat unstable and changeable and you can send off some real mixed signals. Sudden changes of plans can happen now, and this can have us reacting impatiently. But remember, you can also choose to view changes in your routine as beneficial and exciting -- the choice is yours.
September 27th - Mercury opposition Uranus (Mercury in Libra, Uranus in Aries) -
Under this influence we can be easily distracted. Our communications may get lost or be misunderstood. Disagreements with others are quite possible under this transit and its not a good time to present an argument or an important idea at this time. We can have flashes of insight but the tendency at this time is to be unfocused and a bit scatterbrained. Our mind is neither peaceful nor harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy. It is difficult to get a point across without rubbing people the wrong way or misrepresenting yourself unwittingly. Try to avoid making hasty decisions that you will later regret as this energy can bring out our more impulsive and disorganized side as well as make us unreceptive to practical advice now.
September 28th - Mercury Square Pluto (Mercury in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn) - This is a time when your mind is more suspicious and perhaps negative. You could find that mistrust dominates the day--whether this is something you meet in others or deal with in your own thinking patterns. For example, you might be given the third degree, or you could badger someone yourself! This transit often brings some level of mental stress and pressure. Avoid the tendency to read between the lines with a negative slant, as it is bound to only stir up trouble. Consider that some situations call for keeping silent if only for the time being.
September 29th - Mercury sextile Mars (Mercury in Libra, Mars in Leo) - Mental alertness, enthusiasm, and energetic communications figure now. Quick decisions can be made. You are productive and take "busy-ness" in stride. You are alert and aware, and can easily turn ideas into workable projects. You can talk your way out of practically anything now. Your conversations are animated and expressive now, and spontaneous impulses tend to work for rather than against you.
September 29th - Venus conjunct Saturn (Both in Libra) - You are attracted to people with maturity, worldly wisdom, and a solid sense of values (perhaps an advisor, elder, or teacher), and are disinclined to frivolous activities or wasting your time. In fact you may be pleased and happy to be alone or perhaps with just one other person that you know well. On the other hand, you may feel quite cool or withdrawn in a crowd. You are also restrained and careful about spending money at this point, and that's as it should be. It is a good time to reflect, set priorities, enjoy simple pleasures, and appreciate quality time with yourself or with your chosen companion. A commitment could be made now.
What to watch for next month, October 2011!
October looks to be a bit more easy going for us! Yeah!
